Vineville Neighborhood Association is an active organization open to all residents of the Vineville Historic District and to anyone interested in the preservation of the area as an economic and social asset of Macon. The association was founded in 1978 and was responsible for collecting the necessary data on neighborhood homes for consideration as an historic district by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places. The neighborhood achieved this status in 1980. And the historic charm can be seen throughout the streets of Vineville.
Our association covers an area that stretches roughly from the Georgia Academy for the Blind on Vineville Avenue to I-75 and from the English Ave to Ingleside Avenue. Elected board members reside in and represent all areas of the neighborhood. Board members dedicate time, interest and effort to complete the association’s goals and help make our community a better place to live.
The neighborhood association has several objectives:
- To welcome new residents to the Historic Vineville and make them feel included
- To protect the integrity of the neighborhood and ensure it is a wonderful place to live
- To host social activities to allow neighbors to get to know each other and build a sense of community
- To publish a quarterly newsletter
- To promote the Vineville Historic District area as a special place to live in Macon
